On November 15, KST, Kim made a surprise appearance on JTBC’s Newsroom as a weather forecaster. The channel introduced her as a guest weather presenter during the segment. Dressed in neat white attire, Kim Min Ju introduced herself using sign language and delivered the weekend weather forecast like a true professional. Her impeccable enunciation and body language earned her quite the praise from viewers. As impressive as Kim’s presentation skills were, her surprise appearance was not a hint of a career shift. It was a promotional appearance for her movie Hear Me: Our Summer. Kim plays the role of a deaf swimming athlete, Gaeul, in the film, and one of the key points of her surprise weather presentation was to bring attention to communities that rely on sign language for communication. Hear Me: Our Summer is a remake of the 2010 Taiwanese romance movie of the same name. The movie marked Kim’s commercial film debut and has attracted over 380,000 viewers since its release on November 6, KST.
