Girl group KIIRAS participated in a photoshoot for the June issue of @Style.
In this beauty pictorial, created in collaboration with the skincare brand Pal Me, KIIRAS fully showcased their diverse charms, each member displaying a distinct style. The members stated, "We were even more excited because it was our first photoshoot of the year, and we were happy to shoot a beauty pictorial, something we had always wanted to do."
Ahead of their first anniversary, the six members recently made a comeback with their new single 'TA TA,' challenging themselves with the Afrobeats genre and displaying an even brighter and fresher energy. The members commented, "It is a kitschy and rhythmic song with a completely different vibe from the tracks we have done so far," adding, "It becomes incredibly addictive the more you listen to it. We worked hard to prepare it with a vibe like a girls' party."
Kiiras, who have been garnering attention for their bold attempts to completely overhaul their image with every comeback, from 'Kill Ma Bo$', 'BANG BANG!' to 'TA TA', they expressed their wish, saying, "We heard that aespa are promoting around the same time, so although we are cautious, we really want to try a challenge together."
At the time of their debut, the young members, with an average age of 16.1, insisted on live performances using handheld microphones and endured an extreme amount of practice to showcase a 'vocal power show'. Kurumi recalled, "We did nothing but practice, to the point where we could count our days off on one hand in a year," emphasizing their improved teamwork. Harin added, "At the beginning of our debut, we were closer to work colleagues than family, but in just one year, we have become best friends who share our innermost thoughts and are like family."
As befits a multinational group led by Malaysian member LingLing , the local response is also enthusiastic. Doyeon and Roah expressed their overwhelming emotions, saying, "When we arrived at the airport in Malaysia, countless fans were waiting and sang 'BANG BANG' together. So many fans gathered that bodyguards had to protect us, making us realize, 'We really have become idols.'" Lingling said, "Just standing on a big stage in my own country makes me proud, and seeing my parents proud makes me happiest."
Kiiras is a group formed by members with diverse backgrounds, including a traditional Korean music prodigy and a child actor. In particular, Harin is known as a 'perfect daughter' who focused solely on academics, even ranking first in her entire school. Harin revealed the backstory of her debut, stating, "I couldn't give up on the dream of becoming an idol in my heart, so I came up to Seoul to audition. Now, my family supports me, so I am happily active."
Their role model is BLACKPINK. The members expressed their bold aspirations, stating, "Our goal is to perform on the Coachella stage in five years." They added, "We also definitely want to achieve first place on music shows and hold a fan concert during this promotion."
Meanwhile, more pictorials and a candid interview with Kiras can be found in the June issue of @star1.
