ITZY (있지) Ryujin Reveals Why She Quit Pilates

ITZY's Ryujin met with her longtime best friend, SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan, and candidly shared everything from behind-the-scenes stories of her debut to the honest reason she stopped exercising.

A video titled "The Battle of the Century! Boo-Nam-Bo VS Ryu-Yeo-Bo" was uploaded to the YouTube channel '117 - Boo Seungkwan's Bibbidi Babidi Boo'.

The video featured ITZY's Ryujin appearing as the 14th guest, enjoying a delicious meal with Seungkwan while engaging in a cheerful and sincere conversation.

Seungkwan created a heartwarming atmosphere by presenting a thoughtful birthday gift to Ryujin, who appeared as a guest. The two recalled memories of their "listening sessions" from before the spread of COVID-19, when they would listen to each other's new albums together during breaks between music show rehearsals. Proving the extraordinary bond they have built since around 2020, the two directly mentioned the affectionate nicknames "Boo-Nam-Bo" and "Ryu-Yeo-Bo," which are famous among fans, exuding a comfortable charm befitting the entertainment industry's representative best friends.

At the event, Ryujin's unique circumstances leading to her debut were revealed, drawing significant attention. Regarding the starting point of her dream to become a singer, Ryujin confessed that after watching Cirque du Soleil as a child, she felt a great attraction to the glamorous world on stage and began to harbor a vague fantasy about a profession that would allow her to stand there. She added that while she initially thought there was no particular reason for her becoming a singer, after deep contemplation, she realized that her love for performing on stage stemmed from the fantasy she felt while watching the circus.

Ryujin also shared a behind-the-scenes story about suddenly quitting Pilates, which she had passionately practiced four to five times a week for two to three months during the early days of her debut. She revealed her candid, down-to-earth side, explaining that at some point, going to the gym became too much of a hassle, so she started skipping classes by making excuses about her schedule to the instructor, eventually leading to a natural discontinuation.

The two engaged in an in-depth conversation about how they resolve issues arising from personality differences, the hardships of being an idol, and the difficulty of choreography. The episode was filled with rich entertainment, featuring behind-the-scenes stories of Ryujin’s past acting endeavors and anecdotes from her witty dance challenge with Seungkwan.

The two showcased a spectacular mukbang featuring braised beef ribs, abalone seaweed soup, and Dubai yogurt ice cream, and even displayed their barefoot spirit in a fierce Halli Galli board game match that provoked bursts of laughter.

Proving their perfect chemistry by sharing their worries and offering sincere support, the delightful encounter between Ryujin and Seungkwan successfully concluded, delivering big laughs until the very end.
