A video titled "Karina is kind and listens well to my worries #Let'sListen" was uploaded to the Harper's Bazaar Korea YouTube channel.
The video shows Karina answering questions. When asked about the secret to maintaining a bright demeanor despite the difficult times, Karina revealed, “I tend to show my mood a lot on my face, so I don’t hide it. I don’t try to be cheerful or positive; I just became brighter as I lived my life. I think if the person who wrote their worries expresses themselves as they come, it helps resolve the issues, and they might become positive and bright as well.”
In response to the question, “How do you control yourself when you feel sad and want to cry?”, she replied, “I feel sad when I’m sad, and I cry when I want to cry. It helps to send out an SOS to the people around you more often than you might think. In my personal opinion, make friends. Instead of suffering in silence, opening up and talking to friends is also a good method.”
Regarding concerns about how to politely refuse without making the other person uncomfortable, she advised, “I haven’t known this for long either, but honesty is the answer. First off, don’t get involved in money matters at all costs; just run away. I think it’s best to be honest and say whatever it is, like, ‘I’m sorry. I’m a little uncomfortable about money.’ You don’t need to refuse with other words; it’s okay to proudly say that you are uncomfortable if you are. Making a request is not coercion, but your own choice.”
Regarding the small talk method taught by a small talk expert, he advised, “If you ask about their MBTI and start by sharing your own story, such as ‘Do you have any hobbies? In my case, I am learning art,’ the other person will naturally open up. Share your story first.”
