Amidst formidable nominees such as BTS , BLACKPINK , and Lim Young-woong , the KM Chart will determine the star of May's K-MUSIC.
The global standard K-pop chart, 'KM Chart,' announced the nominees for all six categories of its May 2026 monthly chart and stated that voting will run until the 24th. A large number of artists possessing both musicality and popularity have been named in each category.
A total of 50 songs were nominated in the K-MUSIC (Digital Music) category, including BTS's 'SWIM', BLACKPINK's 'GO', AKMU's 'Rumor of Paradise' and 'Joy, Sadness, Beautiful Heart', Le Sseraphim's 'SPAGHETTI', SEVENTEEN's 'THUNDER', Stray Kids' 'Do It', IVE's 'BANG BANG', BabyMonster's 'CHOOM', and Hanroro's 'You Will Fall in Love'.
In the K-MUSIC ARTIST category, a total of 30 individuals (or groups) have been nominated, ranging from BTS, Lim Young-woong, BLACKPINK, DAY6, Le Sseraphim, BOYNEXTDOOR, Stray Kids, IVE, aespa, ATEEZ, EXO, NMIXX, and ENHYPEN.
In the HOT CHOICE category for female category, 30 individuals (or groups) will face off, including I.O.I, Suzy, Irene (Red Velvet), aespa, IVE, Le Sseraphim, BABYMONSTER, ILLIT, QWER, and NMIXX.
The ROOKIE category is also worth watching. In the female category, 10 individuals (teams) were nominated, including Baby DONT Cry, I.O.I, S2IT, AFuture, AtHeart, OWIS, ALLDAY PROJECT, ifeye, KiiiKiii, and HADES. ALLDAY PROJECT, a co-ed group, was classified in the female category as the majority of its members are female.
Meanwhile, 'KMA (KM Chart Awards) 2026,' a music awards ceremony and festival organized by KM Chart, will be held on July 25 at Hwajung Gymnasium, Korea University, in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
'KMA 2026' is a music festival and awards ceremony dedicated to the artists who have shined in the music industry over the past year and the fans who have supported them. Awards will be presented across various categories, including four Grand Prizes, Main Awards, Rookie Awards, and Popularity Awards. The event will present trophies to K-pop artists who have achieved great success and encourage those who will lead K-pop in the future.
